Last week, members of the ReachLocal product and technology team gathered for the company’s second annual Ignition Day, a 24-hour period during which teams come together to develop new ideas and technology. This year, members from several ReachLocal partners, including Google AdWords, Yahoo!, New Relic, Twilio, Simpli.fi, and Yelp participated as well.
The goal was simple – within 24 hours, the teams were challenged with developing a solution and bringing it to life. Teams could propose any type of idea – from media to software to hardware, from conceptual to physical, from a new solution to fixing a bug.
Anyone was welcome to participate, from team members to family, friends, and more came out to provide additional help and support. In total, over 65 people participated across seven locations, including Woodland Hills, CA; Mumbai, India; Orange; County, CA ; Minneapolis, MN; Fresno, CA; New York, NY; and Fort Worth, TX, and everyone had a blast building out the concepts on each team.
After the 24-hour period was over, our product and technology team had come up with 20 fantastic ideas and developed working code to bring those ideas to life. And, many of those new ideas will soon be making their way onto our product roadmap, which will help us provide even more value to our partners and clients!
