Report: 70% of Local Businesses Use Social Media to Drive Growth

A recent ReachLocal survey of more than 500 local businesses revealed that 70% of local businesses use social media marketing to drive growth. Another 20% of respondents said they plan to use social media to drive growth in the future. Business growth includes generating social fans and followers, building brand awareness and engagement, driving website traffic, and getting leads from social media.

The top social sites local businesses report actively using to market their businesses are:

  • Facebook – 75%
  • Twitter – 48%
  • Google+ – 40%
  • LinkedIn – 40%
  • YouTube – 35%

These responses reveal just how valuable an active social media presence is to help local businesses achieve a wide range of marketing and sales goals.
