This week, Google introduced the Knowledge Graph, an enhancement to Google search that will be available to U.S. users soon. According to the Google blog, the Knowledge Graph will enable you to “instantly get information that’s relevant to your query” by determining what type of content you are looking for when you conduct a search. The Knowledge Graph will do this by:
- Discerning ambiguous searches by allowing you to narrow results to exactly what you mean
- Understanding your search query and summarizing key facts about the topic you’re interested in
- Showing you surprising and unexpected information about the topics you are searching for
