ReachLocal Culture Spotlight: Halloweek at #ScreechLocal

HalloWeek at ScreechLocal

As part of our ReachLocal culture, we enjoy celebrating different holidays throughout the year, and Halloween is no exception. This year our Plano team hosted “Halloweek,” a weeklong Halloween celebration that consisted of daily scheduled events. We had so much fun it’s scary! Check it out below:

Monster Mash Monday

On Monday we kicked off the week with our Monster Mash Desk Decorating contest. Each team had the opportunity to decorate their area as much or as little as they wanted throughout Halloweek. The desks were judged Friday, and it was great to see all the creative juices flowing.

Tuesday (Pink-O-Ween)

At ReachLocal we pride ourselves on giving back to our community. Because October is Breast Cancer Awareness month, we wanted to find a way to support the cause. On Tuesday, we wore pink and hosted a bake sale benefiting the BrightPink Organization. You can find more information about this organization on their website. Thanks to all employees in the Plano office who supported this cause, we were able to raise $381.76 to support BrightPink!

Vampire Vednesday

Did you know that donating a pint of blood could save up to 3 lives? On Wednesday, Carter Blood Care came out to visit the ReachLocal Plano team. They parked their bus out back for several hours to collect donations from employees who volunteered for blood donations. Here are some of the statistics from the blood drive: Carter Blood Care saw 28 donors and drew 22 whole blood units and 2 double red units. We were instrumental in saving the lives of 72 patients! Thanks to all employees who donated.

Thrilling Throwback Thursday

We are all familiar with #TBT (throwback Thursday), but for Thursday’s event we wanted to put a Halloween spin on it by showcasing photographs of our employees’ best Halloween costumes from when they were younger.

Freaky Friday

Everyone kicked off Freaky Friday by putting the finishing touches on their desk decorations. Then, from 3 to 4 p.m., employees brought their kids to Trick-or-Treat around the office. The kids decorated their own goody bags, played games, and made some other crafts. The kids and employees also enjoyed the ScreechLocal Social for some treats and our annual costume contest! Awards were given for scariest, funniest, most original, and best group costumes.
